Back to the Backpack

This past weekend my friend Olivia and I decided to book a last minute little excursion to Scotland. Friday after class I basically threw some clothes in my handy dandy North Face bag and sprinted for the train to Edinburgh. We got in around midnight and headed straight for the bar. We met some really cool locals and spent the rest of our night dancing to some very random music, like Slipknot random. I am not quite sure how you dance to that... but we managed. The next morning we enjoyed ourselves some delicious brunch. I had a smoked salmon omelet and mocha, yum. The only true sightseeing that we accomplished in Edinburgh was touring the castle. It was definitely worth it; such awesome views and lots of lots of history to read up on. The most important event of the trip was my purchase of a kilt. Words cannot describe how excited I am to whip this baby out with an awesome leather top somewhere in London this weekend. That night we caught a train to Glasgow to meet up with a couple of her friends that live in Scotland. They showed us around the town, took us out to some Scottish clubs, and introduced us to trashy British TV. Overall, a very successful weekend.
