Autumn

Ahh, the loveliness of MN fall and the wonderful holiday of Halloween, I miss you. Lately I have been restless for some true holiday spirit, London just doesn't seem to have pumpkin patches, apple orchards, corn mazes and crazy Halloween stores like we do back home.. and it is quite the shame. All I have wanted to do this week is roam around an apple orchard aimlessly with my friends, carve a few pumpkins with the family and cuddle up and watch lame horror flicks. Oh, and drink some of my mom's homemade cider and enjoy a delicious slice of pumpkin pie. As I was rummaging through old pictures, I found some pretty awesome pumpkin carvings from way back when. Mine is obviously the haunted house, let's be real. My roomies back home are throwing a little Halloween bash, (which I am a little sad to be missing) but I am quite excited to see everyone's costumes. I will be in Madrid for Halloween and I am really looking forward to seeing how the Spaniards celebrate this rocking holiday! Happy Halloween everybody.

Too Cool

Prague was just about everything I had hoped it would be, cute cobblestone streets, delicious cafes, and some of the most amazing buildings I have ever seen. We got in late Friday night, checked into our lovely little hostel and walked around for a bit before we hopped into bed to prepare for our packed-full Saturday. Olivia and I woke up quite early, grabbed a crepe and headed for the free walking tour. The tour ended up to be so awesome, I really didn't know much about Prague before I got there so it was really nice to learn about all the history and see the different sites throughout the city. Once the tour was done we headed to a different part of town to partake in the international food festival that was going on at the time. We stuffed our faces with some flavorful little pastries and continued to be entranced by all the buildings surrounding us. Not only was Prague a fun city to explore during the day, but it also had a pretty rowdy nightlife. We went to the well-known 5-story club (Karlovy Lazne) and had fun dancing to some old school Whitney Houston until about 5 AM. We enjoyed ourselves a lazy Sunday, slept in past noon, got some bagels for breakfast, scoped out one of the markets and then ended our trip with a cozy dinner. I definitely could have used a few more days in this rocking city, but on a side note I arrived back to London only to find a cute care package from my awesome parents, you guys rock!!

Camden Baby

It was wet, rainy, and rather chilly today so naturally I was in the mood to do some shopping. Lucy and I hopped on the lovely city bus and headed straight for Camden after class. Camden town is so punk rocker, I literally could not believe my eyes. Girls and boys dressed in chunky black boots, purple hair, chains, and scary eye make-up. Whoa. Some of the shops were a bit horrifying to be honest, I think my mom would have had a heart attack, ha. Nonetheless, it was cool people watching and made for some good pictures. Once we made our way inside of the market I was dying to eat some delicious Chinese food. It was cheap and good, enough said. The next few hours we browsed through vintage clothes, old books and records, and a million little trinkets. I ended up with a brand new pair of patterned harem trousers, a felt hat and a couple new books, overall a pretty satisfying experience.
