Our next stop was Nice, France and boy oh boy were we happy to finally arrive. We woke up in Athens at about 4 AM only to have a lovely 18 hour travel day. We took a train to catch our plane to Italy, and then proceeded to take THREE more train rides.. to then take a shuttle bus to our hostel. Bed had never felt so wonderful. Anyways, it ended up being all worth it. The city of Nice just had a certain charisma to it that made me never want to leave. We spent a few of our days just bummin it on the beach, and when the rain came we made our way into one of their many museums. I also had to make a pit stop in Zara, obviously. I figured I had been living out of backpack long enough and deserved some fresh clothing to fit in with all the fashionable Frenchies. We ended up meeting some awesome kids from Berlin and Istanbul at our hostel. We all went out to one of the local bars and had quite the time dancing to American oldies. When my friend Ali arrived we took a couple day trips to the Eze Village and Monaco. We stopped into the famous Monte Carlo Casino and all within 5 seconds realized we were not quite classy enough to be in there. Next time i'll be sure to throw on a fur coat and some red lipstick. Monaco is one rich rich city, but definitely a sight to see. Our week in Nice was filled with relaxation, baguettes and cheese, and new friends from all over the world. All I know is, France, you rock.
